วันที่ 27 พ.ย. 2560 ผู้สื่อข่าวรายงานว่า เมื่อไม่กี่ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมาหลังจากจบการถ่ายทอดสดการประกวดมิสยูนิเวิร์สครั้งที่ 66 ที่นครลาสเวกัส ประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา ซึ่งแน่นอนว่าผู้ที่คว้าตำแหน่งนางงามจักรวาลคนที่ 66 ได้แก่ เดมี่-ลีห์ เนล-ปีเตอร์ส สาวงามจากประเทศแอฟริกาใต้ ส่วน มารีญา พูลเลิศลาภ มิสยูนิเวิร์สไทยแลนด์ 2017 ตัวแทนสาวงามจากประเทศไทยก็ทำผลงานได้ดีที่สุดกับตำแหน่งท็อป 5 บนเวที

ล่าสุด มารีญา ได้ส่งคลิปวิดีโอจากลาสเวกัส ขอบคุณทุกกำลังใจจากคนไทยทั่วโลกที่ร่วมกันเชียร์และเชื่อมั่นในตัวมารีญาตลอดมา ซึ่งเธอบอกว่ารู้สึกผิดหวังเล็กน้อยที่ไม่สามารถทำได้ตามที่ทุกคนคาดหวัง แต่อย่างไรเธอก็ทำเต็มที่ที่สุดแล้วและหวังว่าทุกคนจะมีความสุขกับการได้ดูโชว์ ซึ่งหลังจากเสร็จสิ้นภาระกิจในกองประกวด คาดว่ามารีญาจากเดินทางกลับประเทศไทยในวันที่ 10 ธ.ค.นี้
